What is oncology massage?
Oncology massage is the modification of massage techniques based on a framework of clinical considerations in order to work safely and effectively. An oncology massage-trained therapist is able to provide a massage session appropriately adjusted for the needs of a client with cancer or a history of cancer. Essential aspects of an oncology massage therapist's skill set include an informed understanding of the pathophysiology of cancer and the side effects of cancer treatments, such as medications, surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation.

These modifications are unique to each person.
